Just a note to let everyone know that my computer has a major virus. I will not be posting much until I get this taken care of. I may just have to invest in another computer. Miss every one. This really sucks, as my grandchildren tell me.
This is a quilt I made for my 16 year old grandson, Ocean. Thought the colors were perfect to fit his name. The back fabric was wave looking. His middle name is Nalu(which means wave in Hawaiian). This was one of my favorite so far, guess I just liked the pretty blues.
I don't know where the time has gone. Have been so busy with the grandchildren and just getting on with life that I have had little time to even post. We are planning a trip to my one of my favorite places, as you can see above. Waikiki is always so relaxing. Trip is not until October but with the way time goes so quickly it will be fall before we know it. Hope everyone is having a fabulouse summer. Aloha for now. Have a great weekend.
I have 5 grandchildren. I made this quilt for my only granddaughter, Michaela. A bit of a french theme, and kind of fits her. I had the quilting done by a professional, I am not overly fond of doing the quilting part.
This is a jacket made with my cream and black stash. A work in progress, just need to sew the binding around the edges and it will be finished. I am realizing that this is very heavy, so I will not be wearing it as often as I thought. Was a fun projects.
Today is a special day for Ray and I and all our family. It is the Graduation from high school for our oldest grandchild, Jackson. We are proud and very excited for him and his Mom and Dad. WooHoo! Off the the graduation.
Another piece of fabric I printed. Small so I will add some depth and make a coin purse. Needs a little gold or some sparkle. Love the french theme. Ready to do some serious sewing today, if I don't get caught up going through my stash to find the right piece of fabric that inspires me. Have a fun weekend.
Printed this fabric and made into a small zipper purse for a child. A little of this and a little of that. Fun project and really simple and fast. Well it is already the middle of the week and nearing the end of the month. I just don't know where the time goes.
This is a skateboard deck I covered in fabric for a Christmas gift. Dead of the Dead- meets Paris. I used my stash of fabrics. I have another guitar started, Hawaiian fabrics, even some bark cloth from Hawaii. My week end is going to to full with Birthday party for the 50 year old(she has been celebrating all week, say she only turns 50 once). Off to the Mushroom festival on Sunday. Enjoy your week end.
Years ago when my mom was alive and doing ceramics she convinced me to do a carousel theme. This is just one of the horses I completed. It was fun and I still remember the fun times we had painting the many items. She was so talented in every aspect. I do miss her terribly.
We are expecting 88 degrees today. Hot for our coastal town in California. I have a collection on suns that are hung on a wall of the front porch. Most came from Mexico. I Love the sun and this just makes me smile. Have a wonderful week, I know I will.
Newest tote bag. I found this wonderful French fabric that is canvas weight, I lined it and will be putting handles on when I decide what kind I want. I love the design and just could not buy the fabric. It was very pricey, but I just had to have it.
Marilyn goes shopping. Another shopping bag to carry in the car. We pay .25 per bag if we don't bring our own. California no longer gives out plastic or paper. So, I have many bags and I make them for the girls too. This is another fabric I found at a craft faire. The heavy ticking is perfect for handling a load of grocery items.
Shopping bag for the super market. I bring my own bags for shopping so I decided it should be fun. Found this fabric at a quilt fair. It is large so I can put lots of goodies inside. Is there anybody classier than Audrey Hepburn? I don't think so. Off to have some fun in the sun. Week end is awaiting.
Above is a small craft faire my friend and I participated in last year. The shoulder purse, I printed and made into something I can carry my STUFF, hands free. Wish we had more fairs around here to use as a way of getting rid of my stash of items I make.
One of several skirts that I made for the neighbors granddaughter. It was fun choosing the fabrics and just doing my own thing, all cotton fabric. All the fabric I used was from my stash of many odds and ends.
Our Farmer's Market is in full swing. Saturday mornings on the westside of town local growers bring in their fresh vegies, fruit, canned goods, fresh baked bread and scones. While shopping around you can listen to some music. We have some of the best strawberries grown a short distance from Santa Cruz. Yum
Have decided to make this into a tote. The bird was appliqued onto the french fabric. The black is a napkin, the cream with squares is fabric I dug out that was purchased about 15 years ago. I am a hoarder of fabric. Love working with creams and blacks.
